Couldn’t make it to Coachella this year? No worries because BUnow is about to break down every shocking moment, fashion trend, noteworthy performance, and anything else you may have missed.
It is that time of the year again, where thousands of thrilled fans head to the desert of California for two fun filled weekends of Coachella craziness. In case you are not “in the know” about the biggest music festival in the United States, let BUnow fill you in on all things Coachella.
The Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, simply known as Coachella, is held every April (rain or shine) during the second and third weekends of the month. The festival is held at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, Calif., in the Indio Empire valley of California’s Colorado Desert. Founded by Paul Tollett, the festival started in 1999 and has had rapid success ever since. The highly anticipated event features many genres of music including, rock, indie, rap, hip-hop, and electronic dance music. Across the crowded grounds of the Indio desert, live music is continuously playing across numerous stages. Art and sculptures fill the desert as tall palm trees flow gracefully under the hot sun. It is almost like a picture with the famous ferris wheel and “electronic carnival” scheme. There is camping available to committed Coachella fans. Festival goers enjoy two weekends of outstanding food prepared by accomplished chefs who cater to kosher, vegan and gluten free needs, A-list celeb parties (if you can get in), colorful art from world famous artists, and so much more. Check out all of the amazing perks of attending here.

If you are going to attend the outdoor event it is going to cost you. According to the official Coachella website a general admission ticket is $375 and a VIP ticket is $799. Prices vary by the different packages the festival offers to customers as well as extra features, parking, transportation, and more. Some packages are over $4,000.
The best feature about Coachella is the fact that it is practically a playground for tons of celebrities. Anyone who is anyone in Hollywood is indeed at Coachella, VIP and all. Stars wait all year for this event and obsess over it on social media while in attendance. Surprise appearances and special guests are not an unfamiliar recurrence for the festival.
In order to be Coachella prepared, it is a must to know the fashion rules. This is not just to be stylish, but comfortable since the desert is dry and sandy and the temperatures reach the 90’s. While dressing for comfort, celebs and anyone else should follow the boho, hippie, chic, style that Coachella is famous for. Festival attendees definitely want to be wearing clothing that will help them to feel cool while following with the trend. Lightweight tanks, high-waist shorts, printed lose rompers and jumpsuits, anything fringe, hats, flower headpieces, and satchel bags are all fashion do’s for the parties and the event. Everyone knows this is not a stiletto event, so sandals or ankle boots are the proper shoe to be dancing all day in the sandy desert. Check out Coachella’s official info page for what to bring and what to leave at home. There were most certainly many fashion-don’ts at the event that can be seen here. Oh, there is more fashion felonies here as well.

E! News was generous enough to share some of the lineup with its online viewers and need-to-know info. For the first weekend (surprise guests not included) some of the big names performing were A$AP Ferg, Arcade Fire, Beck, Calvin Harris, Ellie Goulding, Jhene Aiko, Kid Cudi, Lana Del Rey, Lorde, Muse, Nas, Outkast (who reunited for the first time in a decade!), Solange, Skrillex, and Pharrell. The second weekend, which just ended, included the stars above as well. Foster the People, Queens of the Stone Age, and many other indie acts performed the second weekend. Roc Nation DJ and Dior beauty ambassador/ house DJ, Harley Viera was E!’s Fabulist guest editor for the festival. Viera gave good tips to Coachella fanatics like the importance of staying hydrated, creating a plan with friends because the cell service is not good, and mapping out where you want to go because the grounds are very lengthy.
Besides the fact that it is practically a playground for tons of celebrities, there are two other spectacular things about Coachella that top the festival each year. One, is the fact that it can have as many shocking moments as Lindsay Lohan’s social life. Surprise appearances and special guests are not an unfamiliar recurrence for the festival. Two,would be the outrageous parties that take place during the day and all throughout the night. From barbecues to pool parties, some of the best bashes are thrown by Filters magazine (their Annual Yacht Club party), People magazine, Details magazine, Harper’s Bazaar, Lacoste, H&M, Adidas, and so much more.

Hilary Duff and her recent ex Mike Comrie were spotted at Coachella together, so it is safe to say their separation is amicable. A source told E!, “They are not back together.” Other stars spotted at the festival were Katy Perry, supporting her new green hair at the Lacoste party, Jared Leto, and Emma Roberts.

Selena Gomez attended Coachella with gal pals Kendall and Kylie Jenner. The three stars looked incredible as they showed up with their entourage in lace capes, chic hats, and hippie style. The girls took to Instagram to post and keep fans updated on their fun in the desert. According to E! they were seen sitting in a private VIP section of Details Magazine after midnight bash.
One of the biggest shockers of the first weekend was when Beyonce surprised her sister, Solange on stage during her performance! It was such a sisterly moment that made the crowd go wild. The sisters danced with smiles from ear to ear. E! gave all the juicy details to online viewers. Hov took the stage with his former foe, Nas and P Diddy even joined in for the set. Pharrell featured special guests Nelly, Busta Rhymes, Snoop Dogg, and Gwen Stefani, as she sang her hit “Hollaback Girl,” while Nelly pleased the crowd with “Hot In Herre,” and Snoop rapped “Drop It Like It’s Hot.” It would not be Coachella 2014 if Lorde didn’t make an appearance. The Fashion magazine cover girl rocked the stage as a newcomer to the festival.

Another surprise performance was Justin Bieber, who joined Chance the Rapper’s set for screaming fans with their hit collaboration, “Confident.” After Bieber took the stage, where a source told E!, his on-again, off-again lover, Selena Gomez stood side stage, the two were apparently spotted getting cozy and holding hands.

Other memorable performances blew fans minds. Lana Del Rey teased her new single, “West Coast,” then later debuted it for the first time at Coachella. Skrillex and Zedd took the stage separately for unforgettable performances. Calvin Harris rocked the ears of many crazed fans as celebs even Instagrammed their applause. Ellie Goulding put on a flawless performance with her unique vocals for a massive crowd.
An up and coming rising star, R&B singer/songwriter Jhene Aiko, rocked the stage. Her former collaborations with Drake and Big Sean have certainly skyrocketed her career to stardom. Drake also took the stage with Pharrell for a pleasing performance, as usual.

The list of stars spotted at Coachella continues. Kelly Osbourne, Joe Jonas, Kellan Lutz, Carmen Electra, Aaron Paul, Vanessa Hudgens, Alessandra Ambrosio, Emmy Rossum, Lindsay Lohan, Rita Ora, Lea Michele, Ashley Greene, Alex Pettyfer, Kesha, Leonardo DiCaprio, Rob Pattinson, Diplo, Ashley Benson, Shay Mitchell, Cara Delevingne, were just some of the high profile guests in attendance for the music, private parties, and much more.
