BU students get pumped up for The Big Event

Hundreds of Bloomsburg University students came out to support and promote The Big Event at a pep rally held early this morning at the Nelson Field House.
WNEP’s Ryan Leckey was there to promote the community wide service project being held this Saturday. Members from Greek life, Community Government Association (CGA), student athletes and other student organizations received their 5 seconds of fame. A live taping was from 5-9 a.m.; the crowd was featured on WNEP’s morning newscast four times every hour. Leckey and his crew spanned up and down the crowd as students cheered.
“It’s unbelievable,” said CGA president Dave Abrams. “This is better than expected. Thank you to everyone that came out. It is for a great cause.”
There were various raffles being auctioned off as well as performances from the BU dance ensemble. The BU husky marching band pumped up the crowd by playing numerous tunes and fight songs.
“The energy brought here is contagious,” said Leckey. “It just goes to show you from this rally, this University is going to get a lot done at The Big Event.”
The Big Event is being held this Saturday, March 31. It starts at 8 a.m. Come out and support one of the biggest community service projects in the nation.
