Hockey has many memorable moments and games. One of those games came last night at the Bell Centre in Montreal. Team USA captured a gold medal after beating Team Canada in an extraordinary 5-4 shootout in the final game of the IIHF 2017 World Junior Championship. You’re going to want to watch these highlights:

The United States was perfect in the tournament winning seven of seven games, including two shootout thrillers against Russia in the semifinals and then again against Canada in the gold medal-game. Team USA’s Troy Terry proved to be the hero in both games scoring the shootout winner in each match. Terry went a perfect four for four in shootout attempts (one against Canada and three against Russia).

In Thursday’s game, Team USA overcame two two-goal deficits. No goals were scored in the extra frame even though both teams came extremely close and it all came down to a shootout. Five players from each team attempted to score but Troy Terry was the only player to put the puck past his opponent’s goalie.

Team USA goalie Tyler Parsons made the final save of the shootout and it was bedlam. The United States had won its fourth gold medal at the World Juniors and is now 4-1 all-time in gold medal-games, according to USA Hockey’s website.
