WWE Universal Champ Roman Reign Steps Down Due to Illness
WWE Universal Champion, Roman Reigns has just announced that he will be taking time off from WWE due to his ongoing battle with leukemia. Roman shared the news on Monday Night Raw that he has been battling leukemia for 11 years.
"My real name is Joe.
And I've been living with leukemia for 11 years and unfortunately it's back…I'm going to have to relinquish the Universal Championship."

He began by addressing himself by his real name, Joe, in order to express to fans that this was a serious matter and was not part of the show.
Roman has been entertaining viewers of WWE for over 6 years now. It is not known how much time he will be away from WWE but his fans have made it clear that they will be here when/if he returns.
