Students Speak Out About the Block Party Verdict

Every year Bloomsburg University students look forward to the Spring semester, warm weather and most importantly BLOCK PARTY.

We can’t completely deny it… the festivities of Block Party sometimes get a little out of control, but we’re a large college smack dab in the middle of the only town in Pennsylvania. It’s kind of inevitable.

This year’s event is scheduled to take place on Saturday, April 18 and the town council has made it their mission to find a solution to this block party madness problem.

If you haven’t read the full article on BUnow.com, I highly suggest you go do so.

Pretty much, town council voiced their concern for the safety of students and the thousands of other visitors who come to participate in Block Party.

At the end of the discussion, the council had made its ruling: The Code of ordinances of the Town of Bloomsburg Regulating Outdoor Social Gatherings had been passed.

No more party permits will be distributed.  It’s a sad day for many Greek organizations at BU.

The Press Enterprise  was able to capture this emotional moment at the Bloomsburg Town Council meeting on Monday, Feb. 23.
