On January 9, 2022 the Orange County, Florida sheriff’s office announced that Robert Saget, also known as Bob Saget, was found unresponsive in his hotel room at the Ritz-Carlton hotel in Orlando, Grande Lakes. According to People Magazine, the hotels housekeeping manager tried performing CPR on Saget, but when paramedics arrived, they pronounced him dead on the scene.
The sheriff’s office also stated that detectives found no signs of drug use, trauma, or foul play. According to USA Today, on the same Monday night of Saget’s death, Chief Medical Examiner Joshua Stephany said in his statement “manner of death is pending further studies and investigation, which may take up to 10-12 weeks to complete.”

Bob Saget is most famously known for his role of playing Danny Tanner in the popular sitcom “Full House” and being the host of “Americas Funniest Home Videos,” while also having some credible appearances in “How I Met Your Mother” and the sequel “Fuller House”. Saget was currently in the middle of his cross country “I Don’t Do Negative,” comedy tour. On Saturday January 8th Saget posted on Instagram, “I’m back in comedy like I was when I was 26. I guess I’m finding my new voice and loving every moment of it,” right after his show in Ponte Vedra Concert Hall in Jacksonville, Florida.

Many of Saget’s friends, family, and fans have shared how much shock his death has caused, while also sharing how they love and miss him. Saget leaves behind his three daughters Lara, Jennifer, and Aubrey Saget. As well as his wife, Kelly Rizzo, whom he met in the year 2015 and married in 2018. His family shared a statement on Monday night saying, “We are devastated to confirm that our beloved Bob passed away today, he was everything to us and we want you to know how much he loved his fans, performing live and bringing people from all walks of life together with laughter. Though we ask for privacy at this time, we invite you to join us in remembering the love and laughter that Bob brought to the world.”
