Get ready because your favorite characters are coming back to the big screen! Disney and Pixar have announced that “Toy Story 4” is set to be released in June 2017.
The director of the franchise’s first two films, John Lasseter, has said to be directing the fourth installment.
The fourth movie will pick back up from “Toy Story 3” according to Disney. They have also said it is supposed to be a love story focusing on Woody and Little Bo Peep.
Although it has not been confirmed, we can assume that Tom Hanks and Tim Allen will reprise their roles as Woody and Buzz.
“Toy Story 3” left off with Andy giving away his beloved toys to a preschooler named Bonnie as he gets ready to go off to college. However, some people aren’t as happy about the sequel. “Toy Story 3” left off on such a tear-jerking ending to the trilogy and many people’s childhood.
Someone even made an article of “10 reasons Toy Story 4 is A Terrible Idea.” Being one of those kids who grew up watching “Toy Story”, it seemed appropriate to say goodbye to these movies as I was going off to college just like Andy. But it doesn’t mean people won’t pay to go see the movie when it hits theaters.
“Toy Story 3” raked in more than $1 billion dollars at the box office worldwide and the franchise has grossed nearly $2 billion dollars worldwide since the first film in 1995.
