Three-legged Pitbull Stops Home Invasion

The year 2016 has started off with some unusual events. The following story is bizarre, but has a happy ending.
Last week in Janesville, Wis. a couple by the names of Darcy Cherry and Bob Stenzel were suffering at the hands of a home invader. According to CNN, the intruder entered the premises and ordered Cherry and Stenzel to lay on the ground and to give him their money.
The man thought he had the situation under control. Little did he know, a 15-year-old pitbull named Levi would give him a run for his money.
Levi, upset that his family was under attack, barked and growled at the intruder in hopes of scaring him away.
“Not more than a minute after that, the person fired on Levi right in the head,”
Stenzel recounted to WISC-TV.

Shortly after the shooting, the intruder fled the scene. Sources could not identify the cause of the intruders sudden departure; perhaps Levi gave him a good scare.

Not to worry, Levi is expected to make a full recovery. His owner Darcy Cherry told reporters that he also survived being kidnapped in 2014. In that same year, Levi lost his leg during a family hike. The dog apparently took a fall off the edge of a trail — shattering his leg.
What a life this dog has lived.
Unfortunately, the masked man is still on the loose. Police are still looking for the robber, who they describe as white, in his 20’s or 30’s with a slender build and blue eyes. Anyone with information is asked to call the Janesville Police Department.
