Home run from game against Louisville 7/20/19.

Scoreboard at game against the Louisville Bats on 7/20/19.

America’s pastime plays a historic role near Montage Mountain. For the past 30 years PNC Field has been home to the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre franchise and under two Major League Baseball affiliates: the Philadelphia Phillies and now the New York Yankees organization.

The stadium has a seating capacity of 10,000 and went through major renovations in 2012, according to BaseballParks.com. Every seat in this ballpark has a good view of the action, but some of the best areas to view the game are in the Homer Zone lawn area or the bleacher area on the first base line.

Catching a night game and don’t want to drive home afterward? No worries! On top of the mountain, there are a couple of hotels, some overlooking the ballpark. Forgot to pack or just want to shop, explore the Shoppes at Montage where you will always find something. There are a variety of concession stands that please everyone’s appetite. Looking for some RailRiders and some NY Yankees swag, then check out the RailRiders store located behind home plate and the Geisinger Plaza.

This stadium is one of the best and most beautiful ballparks I have ever been to. My most notable memory of watching games here at PNC Field was in 2013 when the Captain himself, Derek Jeter, did a three-game rehab stint. Every game is a great one, and every seat has a great view. If you are planning to attend a game here, do so! I highly recommend seeing a game at this stadium, especially if you’re New York Yankees fan.
