Lewisburg is a historic town in the Susquehanna valley that is unlike any other. With a modern culture and a great downtown to explore, Lewisburg brings an urban-like atmosphere to central Pennsylvania, and is also home to Bucknell University. According to Google Maps, the town is 38 minutes from Bloomsburg University and is west of Interstate 80.

One of the great things about visiting Lewisburg is the many food options around the downtown area. Here are some of the places I recommend trying while visiting Lewisburg.
My first recommendation is Siam Cafe on market street, right across from Hufnagle park. the restaurant focus is Thai. My personal favorite is the Pad Thai with shrimp, and an appetizer of fried calamari. Looking for a date night option? Then dine at the Brasserie Louis on Market street. If breakfast is on your mind, then check out Grams Eatery on north 3rd street.

There are plenty of good places to drink in downtown Lewisburg. My personal favorites are Civil War Cider, Bull Run Inn, and Smiling Chameleon. If you’re in dire need for a good cup of coffee, then stop into Amami. Or if you’re running on a tight schedule and need some quick breakfast, then stop by All-Star Bagel right across the street from the Bucknell University building in downtown, where the bagels and coffee always hit a home run. In the mood for something healthy? Check out Laine’s Bare Bowls located next door to All-Star Bagel.

Downtown Lewisburg has very good scenic views. The park is downtown, is spacious and a nice place during warm weather to have a picnic or just to people watch. If you’re into running, no need to fear, do your jogging on the Buffalo Valley Rail trail, which runs from downtown Lewisburg to Mifflinburg.

With many places to shop, my first recommendation is the Barnes & Noble Bucknell University bookstore. The Street of Shops has some options too. It’s one big shopping place with different treasures in one building. If you want to catch a movie, then check out the Campus Theatre. The theater has very good showings, from films of art to classic films as well. It’s a good place for every film lover.

The downtown of Lewisburg has a lot of culture and unique places to explore when visiting. There’s much to do in such a small town. So if you come up on the sign for Lewisburg when traveling the Pennsylvania road, be sure to stop and explore the town of Lewisburg, PA.
