The 70th Annual Golden Globe Award Winners
“Only at the Golden Globes do the beautiful people of film rub shoulders with the rat-faced people of television.”

Hollywood’s most glamorous and talented television and movie stars all gathered on Sunday to attend The 70th Annual Golden Globe Awards. Or in the witty words of Miss Amy Pohler, cohost of the award ceremony, “Only at the Golden Globes do the beautiful people of film rub shoulders with the rat-faced people of television.”
Poehler stood alongside friend and frequent collaborator, Tina Fey, to host the award show for the first time. The anticipation in the media for these two to host together was off the charts.
Even though the two hosts/nominees did not take home a Golden Globe Award for “Best T.V. Series, Comedy,” they still left victorious in their field of comedy during their stint as hosts.
Poehler may have arguably had the quickest timing and execution of the funniest jokes throughout the evening, however Fey was there to set Poehler’s slam-dunk performance up with a perfectly planned, comedic style ally-oop.
The night was filled with surprise wins such as Ben Affleck’s award of “Best Director, Motion Picture” for the film, Argo. Affleck has been the subject of much Hollywood buzz recently for being snubbed a nomination at the Academy Awards this year for best director. So far he has taken the award ceremonies by storm. Argo also took home the win for “Best Motion Picture Drama.”
