Spring Break Dos and Don’ts

Spring break is a time many students look forward to in their spring semester. A week off of school? That’s awesome. Some people go on vacation to places like Florida where it’ll be warm because, let’s face it, it won’t be warm in Pennsylvania anytime soon. Other people take that week to just relax at home. Whatever your plans are, there are some things you absolutely should and shouldn’t do over spring break.
Don’t: If you are going away and staying at say a resort, don’t leave the resort. There’s probably a lot of other people there for spring break and it could be dangerous, especially if you’re by yourself.
Do: Get away, if you can. Go to a warm place and relax. There’s nothing like laying out on the beach in nice weather with the warm sun beaming on your body. If you’re the kind of a person who likes the snowy weather, try going to a ski resort or a cabin with some friends.
Don’t: Get too drunk and stupid. If you’re at some wild party with cameras, try not to get drunk and make a fool of yourself. It could be bad for you in the future, like if a boss at a job you’re trying to get sees it, they may not think you’re mature enough for the job.
Do: Eat some good food. People are always worried about their bodies and their weight, and I mean you should be healthy, but at the same time, life is too short to eat crappy, boring, healthy foods all the time. Plus, since we’re always eating the cafeteria food at college, it’ll be nice to have some real food bursting with flavor.
Don’t: Work too much. This goes for school work and work-work. I know it’s good to get ahead and it’s great to make money, so I’m not saying you shouldn’t, but just make sure you give yourself a break. This is the time to relax.
Do: Get in a hot tub/Jacuzzi. Sitting in a hot tub with jets hitting your back is a great way to relax.
Don’t: Vacation in Ebola-affected areas. Africa may seem nice, with all their awesome animals, but it’s not worth getting sick.
Do: Get a massage. It feels greats to have all the pain and knots rubbed out of you after walking around campus with a heavy backpack. Plus, it would be nice for athletes and people who constantly work out to have their muscles loosened up a little.
Don’t: Forget sunscreen if you’re going to a sunny place. Getting sunburn could really ruin your vacation. Everything hurts it: the shower, hot water, being in the sun again, you name it. You’ll have to waste time rubbing aloe on yourself, and you could end up with bad tan lines. Plus, it makes the trip home a whole lot more painful.
Do: Spend time with friends and family that you don’t get to see very often. Catch up, tell some stories, and most of all, have fun in whatever you end up doing.
