UFC Khabib vs. McGregor Fight Ends in Unauthorized Melee

UFC 229, Khabib Nurmagomedov vs. Conor McGregor, ended in mayhem last night. After Nurmagomedov’s victory over Mcgregor, an unauthorized brawl between both camps took place. The initial fight was between Nurmagomedov and Mcgregor’s jujitsu coach. Soon after, a member of Nurmagomedov‘s camp jumped into the octagon and began to throw punches at McGregor.
New footage from inside the arena has surfaced of the post-fight battle. The footage implies that Mcgregor may have initiated the second fight inside the octagon by throwing the first strike again a member of Nurmagomedov‘s camp.
UFC president Dana White stated that Nurmagomedov‘s lightweight championship could be stripped away depending on if he receives a suspension and how long that suspension may be.
McGregor and Nurmagomedov‘s payments for the fight were initially held due to pending fines. After further review of the footage, Mcgregor’s check was released, but not Nurmagomedov’s.
Khabib’s post conference interview was brief. He explained that he felt disrespected by Conor McGregor’s camp throughout the UFC training and promotional process. He felt that due to the disrespect he and his camp had to endure, his actions were validated.
