Jamie Drysdale First Game in Philadelphia

This past Tuesday, The Philadelphia Flyers traded top prospect Cutter Gauthier to the Anaheim ducks. In return Philadelphia got Ducks’ start defenseman, Jamie Drysdale. Drysdale made his first start in Philadelphia orange on Wednesday night in a 3-2 victory over the Montreal Canadiens.

Philadelphia came out shooting almost double what Montreal was, but they were not the first to score in the game. The Canadiens quickly scored goal won in the first period. The goal was scored by Sean Monahan assisted by Justin Barron and Kaiden Guhle. After a quite few minuets Montreal got their last goal of the night. With just four minuets left in the first period Philadelphia’s Owen Tippett was able to squeeze a goal though.

The second period also opened quiet. About half way through, Montreal got a two minuet penalty on player Jordan Harris for delay of game. The Flyers were quick to answer on the power play. Morgan Frost got the Power Play goal assisted by Jamie Drysdale and Tyson Foerster. This goal gave Drysdale his irate point as a Philadelphia Flyer.

This game was the battle of the goalies. With constant saves from each team’s goalies, there was no wonder why the game went into over time. Overtime also consigned of lots of shot on goals saved by each team’s goalie. The game ended up going into a shoot out. The Flyers were the only ones able to score in the shootout. The goal was scored by Sean Couturier.

Jamie Drysdale’s first game in Philadelphia. His performance Wednesday night gives hope to the Flyers organization and fans.
