Brandon Jacobs Returns to the Giants

NEW YORK, N.Y.- Former New York Giants Running back, Brandon Jacobs signed a one-year deal with the Giants on Sept. 10, 2013. They were eager to have him on the team due to Wilson’s performance last week against the Cowboys.

“The Giants have given me a great opportunity. This is where I wanted to be. These are the coaches I want to play for and I wanted to come back with my teammates. This is the place I love most.” Jacobs told the official Giants website.

Jacobs previously played RB for the New York Giants from 2005-2011 and is the Giants franchise leader with 56 rushing touchdowns. In 2012, Jacobs signed with the San Francisco 49ers and managed to play two games before he was released.

The Giants are hoping Jacobs will be a mentor for the younger players like David Wilson, a second year starter, third year backup, Da’Rel Scott and rookie, Michael Cox.

“I feel like I’m on top of the world,” Jacobs said to the team’s site after his first practice. “I’ve been waiting for this for a year and something now. I’m happy. When I came back in the building yesterday, did a little workout and I just knew then, I’m not going to fail. I’m not going to fail. I’m going to succeed.”
