Society slams Rebecca Black!

Looks like the “Friday” singer isn’t too thrilled this weekend…

It’s safe to assume that everyone has heard the horrid song “Friday” by Rebecca Black. If not, consider yourself lucky to have not been subject to the most terrible song to ever emerge from YouTube. Then again, you probably have just blocked the memory out to maintain your mental sanity.

Singer Rebecca Black has been taken a heavy beating since the release of her song “Friday.” It appears that people are extremely annoyed and offended by her song and lack-of-talent.

Though, the heavily amped up song may have led you to believe that this girl is, in fact, a robot. Rebecca Black is actually a 13-year-old girl who is deeply insulted by the global discussions since the song’s debut.

The song has received 60 million views on YouTube, and many parodies have also been created about it. The singer has also revealed on “Good Morning America”  that she cried after having received an immense amount of  hate mail as well as death threats. She was told things such as, “I hope you get an eating disorder so you’ll look pretty,” and “I hope you cut yourself and die.”

The Video's Stats As of 3/28/2011

Apparently the 13-year-old’s parents spent $2,000 on the music video by Vanity Music Co. “Ark Music Factory.” For that price, the outcome is certainly unfortunate.

Despite Black’s haters, some A-List celebrities had positive responses to the song including both Lady Gaga, who is highly praised for her talent and unique style, and “American Idol” judge Simon Cowell, who is known to be the most pessimistic and critical of them all.
Hmmmm… ironic.

“I say Rebecca Black is a genius and that anybody telling her she’s cheesy is full of s**t.”
-Lady Gaga

“Love it! I’ve never seen anything cause so much controversy. I think it’s genius. The fact that everyone’s getting upset about it is hysterical.” -Simon Cowell

Here are some lyrics from the song, as well as the official video.

1. Seven a.m., waking up in the morning
Gotta be fresh, gotta go downstairs
Gotta have my bowl, gotta have cereal

2. Kickin’ in the front seat
Sittin’ in the back seat
Gotta make my mind up
Which seat can I take?

3. Yesterday was Thursday, Thursday
Today i-is Friday, Friday (Partyin’)
We-we-we so excited, We so excited.
We gonna have a ball today.
Tomorrow is Saturday
And Sunday comes after … wards
I don’t want this weekend to end.
