Many college students are on social networking sites such as Facebook, Twitter, instagram and LinkedIn. Every so often we deal with a new entrepreneur bringing us a new social media site in hopes of it catching on. As college students and future members of the work force connecting with potential employers is simple. Through LinkedIn, looking for an internship in your field of study is as simple as typing it in a search bar. LinkedIn is the Facebook of the professional world. We watch our potential employers closely as they post new job openings, but what we aren’t too aware of is that they also watch us. The urban legend that goes on in the minds of many students is that if you delete it, it is gone. The ugly truth is that once something hits the internet it can be found from whomever and whenever.
When dealing with social media proceed with caution. Post things that show your true personality and will put you ahead in your future.Depending on how we use social media we can either watch the doors to our futures open up or watch them close in our faces.
