One word to describe Gucci’s Fall/ Winter 2011 collection…AMAZING! Gucci was the first major designer to show this Wednesday at Italy’s Fashion Week. It exploded with vivid colors, vibrant furs in teal, plum, lime and rust. Frida Giannini decided to continue the 70’s trend that began in Spring 2011. In true 70’s fashion, fitted jackets, in velvet or tweed, were paired with thin belt, under-the-knee skirts, wide-leg pants, high boots, cropped wide-leg pant feathered fedoras and colorful suits. Draped chiffon gowns graced the runway paired with shrugs and scarves hand-dyed silk flowers. It is refreshing to see designers dabbling in color for fall/winter instead of sticking to the basic dark/grey hues.
