Seton Hill Tragedy Support Pours in as Investigation Continues
Seton Hill University mourns the loss from the bus crash on March 16 as classes resume on March 18. The lacrosse team has cancelled their next following six games up until March 29. The men’s baseball team had a moment of silence during their home game.
On Sunday the university held their weekly Sunday mass differently as schools around the area and people came to show their support. Most of the lacrosse team was there minus their deceased coach and a few players recovering from their injuries. The team wore their white and crimson uniforms during the mass.
On the school’s home page they paid tribute by posting the team photo mourning the death of head coach Kristina Quigley and her unborn son. She was surrounded by her husband and young son.
As of Sunday night, two lacrosse players are still hospitalized at Penn State Hershey Medical Center ; the other 12 players who were reported as injured were released.
Donations are quickly pouring in to support Quigley’s young son and her husband.
On Saturday, a Facebook page was created call “Play 4 Seton Hill” which has now grown to more than 7,000 followers. The page helps spread encouragement to collegiate teams from across the country to show support. Dozens of teams already showing support by wearing ribbons in Seton Hill’s school colors crimson and gold during their games. Both collegiate and high school teams continue to post photos to the page to show their support.
The investigation is ongoing ,and there is suspicion to the driver as to whether he fell asleep or had a medical episode.
Seton Hill’s women’s lacrosse team is in the NCAA Division II along with Bloomsburg University. Bloomsburg will play a home game against Seton Hill on April 25 at 1p.m. as scheduled. This will be Seton Hill’s last game of the season.
