Safe and Sound Slumber Fund Volleyball Tournament

On Saturday, Nov. 16, the 2013 Fall PR Cases and Problems Class will host a volleyball tournament for the Safe and Sound Slumber Fund, a fundraiser which will provide new bed frames and mattresses for The Women’s Center. The Women’s Center provides a safe place, and a bed, to each of the women and their children staying in the shelter under unfortunate circumstances.
The tournament will be held in the Bloomsburg University student recreational center starting at 11 a.m. and is estimated to end around 4 p.m. The first game will start at 11:30 a.m. Three games will go on at once, lasting about 15-20 minutes each.
There will be a $20 fee for each team. Each team is required to have at least six players and a team name.
Registration should be done in advance by either signing up in the Mass Communications office in McCormick or emailing media manager Lea DiCredico at BUsafe_sound@yahoo.com. Any questions can also be emailed to DiCredico.
Other events will be going on during the tournament like ping-pong, beanbag toss, racquetball, and a DJ for entertainment. There will also be a clothing drive; donations are encouraged. Refreshments and snacks will be provided.
Under the instruction of Dr. Richard Ganahl, this semester’s PR Cases and Problems Class has a goal of raising $10,000 which will buy 44 mattresses and bed frames that need to be replaced at The Women’s Center.
