Roongo’s Rangers is a campaign developed by the senior level public relations class, instructed by Richard Ganahl at Bloomsburg University. Partnering with the Ronald McDonald House of Danville, Pa., we are helping to raise over $2,000 dollars to donate to Camp Dost.
Camp Dost, hosted by the Danville RMHC, is a summer camp located at Camp Victory in Millville Pa. for kids with cancer. For one week each summer children diagnosed with cancer can attend this camp and connect with others in the same situation. With the donations received children can attend this camp for free. With your help we can “Do the Most for Camp Dost and Help Kids with Cancer.”
A 50/50 raffle will be held from Nov. 7-14. Tickets will be sold for one week and cost one dollar. The raffle winner will be chosen on Friday, Nov. 16. In addition to the 50/50 raffle winner, a second ticket will be chosen for a chance to win a gift basket including gift certificates to restaurants in the town of Bloomsburg, $50 in Knoebels Amusement Park tickets and Pittsburgh Penguins tickets.
Indiegogo, an international crowd funding and donation platform has been launched. Indiegogo allows any and all to donate to the cause. Please visit www.indiegogo.com/helpcampdost to donate.
On Saturday, Nov. 10, members of Roongo’s Rangers will be at the men’s basketball home opener against Pitt-Johnstown at 3 p.m. at the Nelson Field House on Upper Campus. Members will be selling raffle tickets and also accepting donations.
As Roongo’s Rangers, this campaign is important to us. As aspiring public relations professionals, we aim to get the most out of our time in college and what better way to utilize our classroom education than to take our knowledge into the real world and gain first-hand experience doing what we are most passionate about. There is no better feeling than raising money to help children with cancer go to summer camp and for one week happily live the way a child is supposed to live.
Any amount of money you are willing to donate is important to us, and we are appreciative for any generous donations.
