Saturday, April 30 marked the 33rd Annual Renaissance Fair along Main St. in Bloomsburg. After the recent torrential downpours it was nice to see some clear blue skies and streets buzzing with life. Dozens of stands lined up the streets inviting people in to check out the various knick-knacks, wood carvings, decorative ornaments, jewelry, purses, sports decor, and fundraisers. For those with a big appetite, delicious foods were just waiting to be ordered. Walking through the crowds of people there was the scent of hamburgers, hot dogs, grilled steaks, beef jerky, chicken fingers, french fries and so much more to make the mouth water.

Entertainment weaved its way for people of all ages. Various bands took stage to perform a few of their it songs, some country line dancing gathered near the fountain encouraging any member of the audience to join on in, and a small section near the end of the fair was devoted to putting on small skits where young children could act out some of their favorite fairy tales. Perhaps the biggest form of entertainment took place in front of the downtown fountain where two extreme jumpers put their skills to the test to show off to the crowd. The girl, a former Olympic gymnast, amazed the crowd with her various flips, tucks, and spins while the guy stunned the crowd by gaining massive height while sporting a snowboard and skies; all by jumping on a trampoline.
