Relay For life is an event that is hosted across the globe to fight back against cancer as well as remember loved ones who lost their lives to the horrible disease. Bloomsburg University is hosting this 12-hour event to raise money for the American Cancer Society This year, Relay is being held on March 23 from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. at the Student Rec. Center.

Teams are made up of 15 people. All teams raise as much money as possible through fundraisers before the event. At the Relay, teams will walk around the track. Specific themed laps such as a purple lap, survivor lap, and Luminaria lap will be designated in remembrance for those who have survived or who currently have the disease.

Relay is a time for celebrating about the money raised to find a cure and also to celebrate the life of the survivors. Team captain meetings are on Wednesdays at 9:15 p.m. in Bakeless 205. Help will be provided for you to sign up and go over questions you may have. Also, visit relayforlife.org/pabloomu for the event’s information and to sign up.
