Regular Show is the best Cartoon Network show
Young adults of the late 90s and early 2000s grew up watching programs such as Nickelodeon, Disney, and Cartoon Network. These providers shaped our childhoods with many cartoons and story plots that we have grown so attached to.
Besides the notable impact of Spongebob Squarepants, I also dabbled in many Cartoon Network shows. The best cartoon ever made by Cartoon Network, in my opinion, is Regular Show.
Regular Show aired for eight seasons, from September 6, 2010, to January 16, 2017. The show was created by J.G. Quintel.
“Regular Show” is often regarded as one of the best Cartoon Network shows ever created for a variety of reasons. Its unique blend of humor, clever storytelling, and relatable characters that captivated audiences of different ages.
The show’s ability to balance absurdity with heartwarming moments and its nostalgic references to pop culture made it a beloved and memorable series among fans.
Peak Humor for All
The humor in Regular Show is often praised for its ideal blend of absurdity, pop culture references, relatable character dynamics, and a balance between childlike innocence and adult humor, making it enjoyable for a wide range of audiences.
Each episode of Regular Show showcases its unique combination of imaginative narrative, bizarre situations, and unexpected humor, making it stand out and providing a distinct experience with a variety of unpredictable adventures for its viewers.

Original Characters Unlike Any Other Show
One of the most unique aspects of this television show is that the characters within it are so original and unlike any other show. Most characters range from objects, animals, and creatures with anthropomorphic qualities.
- Rigby
Rigby, a raccoon, is a mischievous and lovable character whose immaturity often leads to humorous predicaments, but he also demonstrates growth and loyalty throughout the series.
- Mordecai
Mordecai is a tall, blue jay with a distinctive black uni-brow and a laid-back demeanor.
Mordecai is a responsible and relatable character who navigates the challenges of adulthood while maintaining a strong friendship with Rigby.
- Skips
Skips from “Regular Show” is a muscular yet elderly yeti with a gentle demeanor, who possesses vast knowledge and wisdom, serving as a mentor figure to the main characters while also showcasing his remarkable strength and age-defying abilities.
Skips was my favorite character when I was growing up. His raspy, wise voice always roped me in.
- Benson
Benson is the most unique character of the show due to the fact he is a talking gum-ball machine. Benson is a short-tempered man who serves as the park’s manager, frequently displaying his frustration and exasperation with the antics of Mordecai and Rigby. He is most typically know for his outburst yells of “Mordecai & Rigby, get back to work!” or “You’re fired”.
Now, as I have grown older rewatching the classic cartoon, Benson has grown to be my new favorite character.
- Pops
Pops from Regular Show is a friendly and naive creature with a childlike and optimistic personality. Although his features resembles those of Skips most, Pops replicates his father’s features who in fact owns the park.
Pops is a species known as a “lollipop person,” which is a fictional and unique species within the show’s universe. He is most known for his kind demeanor and sayings of “jolly good show” or “bad show” depending on the mood.
- Muscle Man & High Five Ghost
It is best to pair these two together because they really are a duo. Muscle Man is a burly, green-skinned man with a penchant for pranks, a loud and boisterous personality, and a signature catchphrase of “My mom!”
High Five Ghost, on the other hand, is a white ghost with a hand extending from the top of his head, who is more reserved, loyal, and often serves as Muscle Man’s sidekick, providing a contrast to his friend’s over-the-top antics.
There are an immense amount of characters that impact the show along the way, but this is the main group that maintains the park.
Imaginative Storytelling
The plot evolves into a strong storyline by gradually expanding its universe, introducing compelling character arcs, and delving into deeper themes while maintaining its signature humor. This evolution allows the show to engage its audience, create emotional investment, and deliver satisfying narrative developments.
Regular Show can be deemed a work of art for its distinctive animation style, diverse plot, and its adeptness in blending humor, heartfelt moments, and nostalgia seamlessly.
