QB Kelly Bryant to Transfer

Clemson Quarterback (QB) Kelly Bryant was the starter the past 18 games for the Tigers but was informed on Monday that he would no longer be the starting QB. His replace will be the younger, talented freshman QB, Trevor Lawrence. Bryant had a 16-2 record as the Tigers’ starter.
Kelly stated in his exclusive Greenville News interview “I’ve been with this senior class for four years. Seeing how much we built and poured into this program, it’s tough to walk away from it,” Bryant said. “But at the same time, I’ve got to do what’s best for me. And I feel like this is the best situation for me.”
He also stated, “I’ve never been a distraction. I’ve never been in trouble with anything. To me, it was kind of a slap in the face.”
Coach Dabo Sweeney said that the meeting was “emotional” and spoke on the decision with ESPN Analyst Steven A Smith.
