Professional U workshops are open for all graduate and undergraduate students, and they will be held  Oct. 1 and Oct. 2. Registration is required since space is limited. You may sign up for all the workshops offered for a specific date or individual workshops on different dates to fit your schedule.

If the session that you are interested in attending is closed, please email professionalu@bloomu.edu , you will then be placed on a waiting list.

On Oct.1 the workshops will be held in the Student Services Center – room 004

On Oct. 2 the workshops will be held in Sutliff – room 102

 

Workshop times include:

6:00 p.m.– 6:45 p.m.– “Finding Opportunity” – Learn how to identify Internship and SEL Hosts using LinkedIn, the BU alumni website, and general company research.

6:45 p.m.– 6:55 p.m.– Break

6:55 p.m.– 7:55 p.m.–“Networking for Opportunities – Panel Discussion” – Hear how a few BU alums have learned how to capitalize when opportunity breaks.

7:55 p.m.– 8:00 p.m.– Break

8:00 p.m.– 8:45 p.m.– “21st Century Resumes & Portfolios” – Learn about key elements that make up a resume, make it searchable online and how to make your electronically portfolio attractive to potential employers.

 

Information tables for the SEL Program & Internships will be staffed from 5:30 to 8:30 PM for students who have questions.

 

Professional U Workshops will also be held on Nov. 4 & 5.  All of these workshops will be held at Kuster Auditorium, Room 108, Hartline Science Center.

Workshop times include:

6:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. – “Professional & Dining Etiquette” – Pick up a few tips and tools to keep in mind when interacting with professionals in a variety of settings.

7:30 p.m.– 7:40 p.m.– Break

7:40 p.m.– 8:30 p.m.– “Building a Portfolio” – Learn how to incorporate items from your internship and experiential learning experiences into your professional portfolio.
