Pokemon Club to Hold X and Y Tournament

The Bloomsburg Pokemon Organization (BPO) is a club at BU for anyone who enjoys the Pokemon franchise, from the video game series to the trading card game.
The club is currently in its second semester. In October 2013 members traveled to Bloomsburg’s local Gamestop for the midnight release of the new Pokemon X and Y versions on the 3DS.
This Sunday, Nov. 17 from 3 to 4:30 p.m. in the Kehr Union Multipurpose Room 345A the BPO will hold a bracket-style tournament for Pokemon X and Y, where winners will be eligible to win prizes. Players will be able to use teams of up to six, and battles will be held via the PSS Battle feature so that all players’ Pokemon will be at the same level. BPO President Evan Lepovetsky encourages anyone who has the games to come out and play, even if they don’t regularly attend meetings.
“I really enjoy meeting new people that share the same common interest as I do,” says Lepovetsky. “With the creation of this organization and the holding of this tournament, I’m really enthusiastic about gathering all of the BU Pokemon fanatics into one place.”
BPO meetings during the Fall 2013 semester are regularly held at 3 p.m. on Sundays in KUB Multipurpose 345A.
