Philadelphia Eagles Year in Review
With the Philadelphia Eagles woeful season coming to a close an off-season of uncertainty looms. Many questions will need to be answered and many spots will need tofilled. After acquiring middle linebacker DeMecoRyans from the Houston Texans the Eagles fan base expected a season of success. With the Eagles ending with a 4-12 record they now look to rebuild.
With Andy Reid’s firing the Eagles will need to find a new head coach. Rumors around the organization are say that the University Oregon head coach, Chip Kelly, is the primary candidate Jeffrey Lurie and the rest of the front office are after. Kelly is known for running more of a collegiate spread offense but there is no doubt that he knows the game of football.
Quarterback Michael Vick is a player that may have to look for a new team at the conclusion of this season. Vick has managed to throw for 11 touchdowns, nine interceptions and has fumbled the 10 times this season. He is 7th in the league for fumbles amongst all other quarterbacks. Rookie QB Nick Foles may not be the franchise QB for the Eagles but they do seem set on moving on from the Michael Vick era.
As for the defense that is ranked 26th in points allowed changes must be made. CB Nnamdi Asomugha has been quoted saying “I am willing to renegotiate my contract…I am willing to do whatever it takes to stay in Philly.”
Asomugha is part of a secondary that has underperformed this season. Communication errors seemed to be the reason for 
countless secondary breakdowns. Changes in the defensive line were made when they released Jason Babin with five games left in the season.
The Philadelphia Eagles will need to make changes in coaching as well as personnel. There are many problems that need to be addressed such as the offensive line and their holes in the secondary. In order to make a playoff run and also bring the first Lombardi trophy to the city of brotherly love the Eagles will need to satisfy their needs.
