Video of Top NFL Prospect Smoking Weed Surfaces Minutes Before Draft

Laremy-Tunsil111Just minutes before the 2016 NFL Draft kicked off from Chicago, a troublesome video emerged of top prospect Laremy Tunsil smoking weed from a gas mask.

The video was leaked on Tunsil’s Twitter page, which has since been deleted. Since then, the video has made its way to YouTube.

The Mississippi offensive lineman was projected by many to be the top offensive tackle in the draft. Some draft analysts even had Tunsil as the top offensive player in the draft. Even though many people do not see marijuana being a big issue in today’s society, it is still forbidden from players to use under the NFL’s Substance Abuse Policy.

Because this video was released minutes before the draft began, people are speculating how recent the video actually was taken. Because Tunsil is a top pick, he was in attendance at the draft on Thursday, making it impossible for him to be smoking weed at the time.

No one knows how long ago the video took place, but according to Ian Rapoport Tunsil says the video occurred “years ago.”

UPDATE: The Miami Dolphins selected Tunsil with the 13th overall pick in the first round. Number 13 overall is a huge tumble for Tunsil, who was projected to be drafted higher. Five offensive players were taken before him, including two tackles. The Baltimore Ravens drafted Ronnie Stanley out of Notre Dame at pick number six while the Tennessee Titans drafted Jack Conklin out of Michigan State with the eighth overall pick.

It will be interesting to find out when this video actually took place and how Tunsil’s Twitter account got hacked. If this issue occurred within the last year, the Dolphins will have to sit down with Tunsil and make sure he gets rid of his smoking habits. If this video was recorded years ago, I do not see any issue with it and would let it slide.

Let’s be honest, though, that is a pretty sick gas mask.
