This is What Dreams are Made of: Hilary Duff’s New Album

Lizzie McGuire is all grown up! Well, Hilary Duff that is. Hilary last played the character in 2003 which was eleven years ago. If you thought that made you feel old just wait. Duff played in her first big movie as Wendy in Casper Meets Wendy sixteen years ago and her last album, Dignity, was put out seven years ago.
“I’ve been in hibernation for seven years, so I’ve got a lot of energy” Duff stated in a recent interview with Popjustice. During her “hibernation,” Duff married professional ice hockey player Mike Comrie. The two had a son together in March of 2012.
Duff is now back on the scene and getting ready to release a new album. It was originally set to release in October, but she sent out a tweet on Aug. 29, that said the album will be coming out a little later than expected.
Hold on though Duff fans! Hilary has already released a couple singles to hold you over until the album is released.
The first was a remixed version of her song Play With Fire from her last album Dignity. Honestly, I wasn’t very impressed by the remix. There was no real message and the music video consisted of various shots of her again, and again, and again. By the time I made it halfway through I was ready to turn it off. But that’s my opinion, check it out for yourself. Click here.
The second song, Chasing the Sun, was released on July 28. It was much, much better. Racking up a total of twenty-two million views on YouTube, Chasing the Sun is about leaving behind the mundane and enjoying life. Imagine going on a road trip in an old convertible on a beautiful breezy day and you’ve captured the essence of this song. Click here.
All About You is the latest song she’s released. It came out the Sept. 24 and already has about two million views. Unlike the laid back, feel-good nature of Chasing the Sun Duff’s All About You has a strong beat and shows off her dance moves. It’s not exactly great for dancing, but I certainly wouldn’t be surprised if it gets played A LOT on the radio. Click here.
One thing is for sure: Hilary Duff has grown up and is ready to work. But what do you think? Will this new album be what dreams are made of? Let us know in the comments below!
