Is Christmas Over Marketed?
Did you notice how every year, Christmas decorations come to stores even before Halloween approaches? Does it bother you at all? It bothers me.
Christmas songs come on the radio really early. Then you see Santa in the mall and you’re like “Santa? What are you doing here? It’s not your time yet.”
Commercials come on TV before you sit down to eat turkey on Thanksgiving. I saw a Target Christmas commercial where a little girl followed the Target dog around, and she saw all the gifts she wanted. It was like a Target, marshmallow wonderland and it turned out to be just a dream in the end. I guess it was a good Target commercial but it annoyed me a little because it was about Christmas already. One holiday at a time please.

ABC Family advertises their 25 Days of Christmas early, and it doesn’t start till Dec. 1.
I just feel like there’s all this build up to Christmas day and then it comes and goes so fast. People get ready so early and they make it seem like it’s all about the gifts and the decorations. For me, it takes away the true meaning of Christmas. It’s not about all the gifts. It’s about coming together with your family to celebrate Jesus’s birthday.
