The Annual Semi-Formal Dance: Bright Lights and Snowy Nights

On Dec. 1, Program Board did their annual formal in the fall this time instead in the spring.

The Kehr Union ballroom and lobby were decorated in snowy themes decked with lights around the pathway and entrance. Center-pieces on the tables were hand painted including the candle-holders. Also, trees and lamp post lights were dotted around the ballroom. Students have floated in beginning at 9:30 p.m. grabbing tables and lining up for the food provided in the event.

DJ2CoolC from Philadelphia got the dance started and interacted with the dancers while taking requests. In the lobby, photographers took group pictures and placed the photo in a snow-globe free of charge. Near the end of the dance, raffles were drawn giving away iTunes gift-cards and a big prize, a $100 gift-card to various restaurants around the Bloomsburg area. Popular and old songs were played including “Cottoneye-joe”, “Wobble” and “Gangnam style.”

Jennifer Rinaldi, who is in charged the dances and a senior communication studies major, put in many hours and dedication to make this such a memorable event. She will move to Vice-President for Program Board leaving her ending mark on organizing dances.

Next semester the dances will be taken over by junior, Gary Stover, a dedicated member of Program Board who was chosen for his leadership and outgoing personality. The secondary education history major will be expecting everyone to lookout for next semester any dances hosted by Program Board by like their Facebook page and following them on Twitter @BUprogramboard.
