Club Spotlight: Disciple-Makers Christian Fellowship

There are a bunch of different organizations on campus to fit just about anyone’s interests. If religion is one of those interests, there is the Disciple-Makers Christian Fellowship club, led by Bloomsburg University senior Jake Swink.

Swink said that this club “exist[s] to pursue Christ and to bring others along in that journey. We have approximately 70 students this year in our group.”

According to the club’s website their aim is to not just turn people into disciples, but to raise “disciple makers.” They say “a disciple-maker is a laborer who is committed to becoming more like Jesus and who strives to make every effort to influence the world around him for Christ.”

Disciple-Makers Christian Fellowship does many things such as bible studies, group service projects, prayer for anybody, helping each other, and fun activities (movies, games, bonfires, etc).

“I started going to DCF my freshman year and it has totally changed my life,” said Swink. He went on to say how the staff worker, Mike Chartowich, and the students in the club take the time to reach out into his life. “They pushed me to more closely follow my faith and to really look into what I really believe.”

The club meets on Thursdays at 8 p.m. in the Kehr Union Multi-Purpose room 345-B, as well as throughout the week at various locations like dorm rooms, and around campus to hold small group Bible studies.
