The Bloomsburg Student Concert Committee will host MTV star Nick Cannon for a special Wild N’ Out comedy performance that will take place on Feb. 28. Cannon has hosted seven successful seasons of Wild N’ Out since 2005 on both MTV and MTV2. Each season consists of two teams of comedians and celebrities that compete head to head in various improvisational comedy battles in front of a live audience. Throughout the years, some of America’s most popular celebrities such as Snoop Dogg, Serena Williams, Kanye West, Wiz Kahlifa, Kelly Rowland, Tyra Banks, Two Chainz and hundreds more have been a part of Wild N’ Out either competing in the battles or performing during the shows. Kevin Hart and Kat Williams, two of America’s most popular comedy stars today have also battled on the show at the beginning of their rise to fame.

After years of success, Cannon is now searching for fresh new comedians to battle in season eight for a completely revamped show. In addition to new talent, he is also bringing back old members to give the new cast the comedic challenge of a life time. Cannon’s first ever Wild N’ Out college tour successfully kicked off at the University of South Florida with his comedy team in front of 8,000 students. He has not announced his comedy team for the BU show, and we will not find out until the show begins.

Cannons Wild N’ Out  performance is being brought to the University through the student ran concert committee. The group consists of 22 BU student members that meet weekly to bring the University their fall and spring concerts each year. The concert planning process requires dedication and participation from each member of the committee. They work as a team to find popular up and coming artists, promote and advertise each show to the BU students and the public, and ensure that each concert runs successfully. This year, the committee wanted to bring a new twist to the semester by adding an additional comedy show.

Concert committee President, Erica Hooven says, “We’re excited that we get to give the BU students two shows this semester. A comedy show is something that our committee has always wanted to do, and I think that the Wild N’ Out tour will be something the students will really enjoy.” Throughout the years the committee has brought big name artists such as Kendrick Lamar, Time Flies, Krewella, Big Sean, and Rae Sremmurd to perform at the University.

Kelsey Bowman, Committee Vice President says, “We have brought so many talented artists to Bloomsburg, but Wild N’ Out is especially exciting because we have the opportunity to bring the BU students a show that they grew up watching on MTV for so many years.”
