NYFW is sporting a new look this year

This September’s New York Fashion Week will look a little different, despite being freshly out of a year in isolation. After losing two seasons to a virtual session, Fashion Week has made a huge comeback. The designers and models are ready to strut their new looks across the runway full force. This splendid event officially began yesterday, when some designers showed some pieces, and will run through Sept. 12.
What is New York Fashion Week? New York Fashion Week is a series of events in which global fashion collections are shown to consumers, the media and the broader population. It is held in February and September of each year. September is very much a month of fashion as many fashion weeks come back to back. To start it all off is New York which is soon to be followed by Milan, London and Paris.
Many designers will be unveiling beautifully crafted collections that many will fall in love with. The designers will be following along with the New York Fashion Week Schedule as they present their creations. Most designers will exhibit their Spring/Summer 2022 designs on the runway or in special showcases for the fashion elite, which includes publication editors, stars, influencers and other key trendsetters. We may expect major American fashion labels like Coach, Brandon Maxwell, Tom Ford, Michael Kors and others to show throughout the week.
There is a various amount of ways that these designers are showcasing their looks. Some of the shows will be available via in-person or live stream, while others may only be digital. How will they proceed health measures post pandemic? The number of people who attend live shows has dropped dramatically. Anybody attending New York Fashion Week, including models, beauticians, hair stylists and anyone else working backstage, will be required to provide confirmation of the COVID-19 vaccine, according to IMG. Many measures are being taken because the show must go on.
However, Ralph Lauren, Tommy Hilfiger, Pyer Moss and Marc Jacobs will not be presenting this month, which is shocking news. Yet, there are over 91 designers we can still enjoy.
Happy NYFW!
