Nicki Minaj recently released her new hit song “Anaconda,” which is becoming increasingly popular every day. The only thing more popular than her song is the music video that accompanies it. Minaj is known for her controversial attitude, outfits and songs, but many viewers, including myself, were not expecting the provocative nature of this music video.
This video emphasizes Minaj’s physique which I believe is part of the reason for its growing popularity. With more than 155 million views, Minaj has taken the world by storm. I think it’s safe to say that Nicki Minaj is very confident and comfortable in her own skin.
Celebrities have even gone so far to make their own version of this video. Ellen DeGeneres recently showed her edited version of “Anaconda” in which she shakes it for the world to see. By strategically placing herself with Minaj throughout the video, her version of the song is one to rival that of Minaj. When having Minaj on her talk show, she showed her video and Minaj reacted in the only way she could, laughing hysterically and telling Ellen “You are hilarious.” No one can argue against that.
Sir Mix-A-Lot, singer of “Baby Got Back,” has spoken out about Minaj’s song and video. His Grammy Award Winning song features the forever-famous verse and my favorite verse “My anaconda don’t want none unless you got buns, hun.” He tweeted:
