Week five matchups (byes: Steelers, Vikings, Buccaneers, and Redskins)

Cleveland Browns 37 vs. Buffalo Bills 24

Although the Browns lost their starting quarterback Brian Hoyer to an injury, Brandon Weeden came in and completed 13 of 24 passes for nearly 200 yards and a 37 yard touchdown pass to wide receiver Josh Gordon. Travis Benjamin returned a punt 79 yards for another score. The Browns scored 20 unanswered points in the second half to win their third straight game.

New Orleans Saints 26 @ Chicago Bears 18

Drew Brees completed 29 of 35 passes for 288 yards and two touchdown passes, both of them to running back Pierre Thomas. Jay Cutler also had a good game, completing 24 of 33 passes for 358 yards and two touchdowns. Wide receiver Alshon Jeffrey made 10 catches for 218 yards and scored a touchdown, but Chicago came up short.

Cincinnati Bengals 13 vs. New England Patriots 6

BenJarvus Green-Ellis scored the Bengals only touchdown in the fourth quarter and kicker Mike Nugent added two field goals, including a 50 yarder. Cincinnati’s defense sacked Tom Brady four times and held him to a passing percentage of 47 percent. The final dagger came when Adam Jones intercepted a pass with 16 seconds remaining to preserve the win, snapping Brady’s streak of 52 consecutive games with a touchdown pass.

Green Bay Packers 22 vs. Detroit Lions 9

Aaron Rodgers completed 20 of 30 passes for 274 yards and a touchdown pass to James Jones, who made four catches for 127 yards. Rookie running back Eddie Lacy carried the ball 23 times for nearly 100 yards.

Kansas City Chiefs 26 @ Tennessee Titans 17

Damian Williams muffed a Dustin Colquitt punt and Marcus Cooper recovered the ball in the end zone for a touchdown to give Kansas City the lead in the first quarter. Running back Jamaal Charles gained 108 yards on 22 carries and scored a touchdown. Kicker Ryan Succop also added four field goals as the Chiefs got off to their best start since 2003.

Indianapolis Colts 34 vs. Seattle Seahawks 28

Andrew Luck completed 16 of 29 passes for 229 yards with a pair of touchdown passes. T.Y. Hilton caught five passes for 140 yards and scored a touchdown from 73 yards out. Russell Wilson completed 15 of 31 passes for 210 yards and two touchdowns, he also added an additional 102 yards on the ground. Marshawn Lynch also rushed for 102 yards on 17 carries.

St. Louis Rams 34 vs. Jacksonville Jaguars 20

Blaine Gabbert started the game well by throwing a 67 yard touchdown pass to Justin Blackmon, who caught five passes for 136 yards. Gabbert only completed 9 of 19 passes for 181 yards and was replaced by Chad Henne. Sam Bradford threw a touchdown pass to Austin Pettis to put the game away with 5:45 remaining. Bradford completed 19 of 34 passes for 222 yards and two touchdowns, both to Pettis.

Baltimore Ravens 26 @ Miami Dolphins 23

Joe Flacco completed 19 of 32 passes for 269 yards and Ray Rice scored two touchdowns to help the Ravens build a ten point lead in the fourth quarter. Ryan Tannehill completed 21 passes for over 300 yards and a touchdown. Miami came back to tie the score behind Reshad Jones’ 25 yard interception return for a touchdown. Baltimore regained the lead on a 44 yard field goal by Justin Tucker with 1:42 remaining and the Ravens held off the Dolphins for the win.

Philadelphia Eagles 36 @ New York Giants 21

LeSean McCoy scored a touchdown and Alex Henery kicked three field goals as the Eagles built a 19-7 halftime lead. New York came back in the third quarter as Eli Manning threw two touchdown passes to Reuben Randle. In the fourth quarter, Nick Foles, who replaced the injured Michael Vick, completed 16 of 25 passes for two touchdown passes to Brent Celek and DeSean Jackson, who caught seven passes for 132 yards.

Arizona Cardinals 22 @ Carolina Panthers 6

Arizona’s defense held the Panthers to a pair of field goals and sacked Cam Newton seven times while intercepting three of his passes. Defensive end Calais Campbell even recorded a sack for a safety. Meanwhile, Carson Palmer overcame three interceptions of his own by throwing a fourth quarter touchdown pass to tight end Jim Dray with 2:23 remaining.

Oakland Raiders 27 vs. San Diego Chargers 17

In a late Sunday Night game on NFL Network, Terrelle Pryor completed 18 of 23 passes for 221 yards and two touchdown passes and he scored a passer rating of 135.7. Philip Rivers completed 36 of 49 passes for 411 yards and a pair of touchdown passes, one of which went to wide receiver Keenan Allen, who made six catches for 115 yards.

Denver Broncos 51 @ Dallas Cowboys 48

In a high scoring shootout, Peyton Manning completed 33 of 42 passes for 414 yards and four touchdowns, including two to Julius Thomas, who caught nine passes for 122 yards. Tony Romo completed 25 of 36 passes for a franchise record with 506 yards and five touchdowns. With the score tied at 48; Romo threw a costly interception with 1:57 remaining and that gave Denver great field position at the Dallas 24 yard line. From there, Matt Prater kicked the game winning field goal as time expired to lift the Broncos to 5-0.

San Francisco 49ers 34 vs. Houston Texans 3 (SNF on NBC)

Colin Kaepernick completed 6 of 15 passes for 113 yards and threw a 64 yard touchdown pass to Vernon Davis in the fourth quarter. San Francisco’s defense responded with their best game of the year so far by holding Houston to a single field goal. Matt Schaub completed 19 of 35 passes for 173 yards and threw three interceptions, one of which was returned for a touchdown by cornerback Tramaine Brock on the first play of the game.

New York Jets 30 @ Atlanta Falcons 28 (MNF on ESPN)

Geno Smith completed 16 of 20 passes for nearly 200 yards and three touchdown passes. Matt Ryan completed 36 of 45 passes for 319 yards and a pair of fourth quarter touchdown passes as the Falcons overcame a 13 point deficit to take the lead. With 1:54 remaining, Smith led the Jets on a 56 yard drive and kicker Nick Folk made a 43 yard field goal with three seconds left as New York handed Atlanta their fourth straight loss. Smith became the first rookie quarterback to throw three touchdown passes in a Monday Night game since Dan Marino in 1983.
