Seton Hill Lacrosse Team has Fatal Bus Crash

March 16, the bus that carried the Seton Hill women’s lacrosse team crashed as they were on route to a game against Millersville. So far two people have died from the accident. Deaths include the bus driver and the head coach Kristina Quigley, who was six months pregnant. The remaining people on the bus were taken to hospitals for minor and serious injuries.

The bus swerved off the Pennsylvania Turnpike and crashed into a tree. Police are currently investigating the cause of the crash as of how the bus lost control.

The bus operator, Mlaker Charter & Tours, is up-to-date on its inspections. Inspections include safety checks of the bus and driver, according to Jennifer Kocher, a spokeswoman for the state Public Utility Commission.

Seton Hill University, a catholic liberal arts school located in Pittsburgh with the enrollment of approximately 2,500 students was immediately notified. Students and staff were offered counseling, and on March 17, they will hold a memorial service on campus.
