Buffalo Snow Could Cause Risk for Flooding

Last week, Buffalo, and other parts of western New York, were pummeled with more than seven feet of snow. The snow came in the event of a lake effect storm, which is from artic air dispensing over the normally warm waters of the Great Lakes. Many people were trapped in their homes and thousands of cars were left abandoned.

Not that the fear of the abundant snow was enough, the area is now embracing for flooding. With rising temperatures over the next few days, the National Weather Service have issued flood warnings through Wednesday across Buffalo and several other counties. Meteorologist say it’s too early to know how much flooding is going to come from the seven feet of snow. It has been announced that the snow storm has caused at least 13 deaths.
