NCAA approves athletic independence for Bloomsburg, Lock Haven and Mansfield

As of April 20, 2022, the NCAA Membership Committee has approved the plan that will allow Bloomsburg, Lock Haven and Mansfield to maintain their individual athletic programs. An email was sent out to students announcing the decision.
“Our student-athletes deserve the opportunity to continue their athletic pursuits, and intercollegiate athletics hold a special place as part of the fabric of each of our campus communities and institutional brands,” Dr. Hanna stated in the email. ”Together we can confidently move forward into the 2022-23 academic year and beyond – to cheer on the Huskies, Bald Eagles, and Mounties.”
This decision will be a step forward in the integration plan between the three universities.
