Must Visit NYC Spots

Even as a New York native, I get just as excited about visiting NYC as the first time I went. Over my 21 years, I’ve explored the Big Apple too many times to count and each visit leads to new surprises. I’ve rounded up some of my all-time favorite spots in Times Square, Soho, and Chelsea for those trying to plan the perfect New York City trip.
Driving to and in the city can be a very overwhelming task, especially for those with no city driving experience; the hustle and bustle is real. Luckily, Bloomsburg offers its students a round trip bus ride to and from NYC for a very reasonable price.
One of favorite not-so-hidden spots is FAO Schwarz. Just a block away from Times Square is where you will find this massive and beyond colorful toy store. It is hard to walk in this place and not grin ear to ear. You may be able to recognize the well known interactive piano floor from the movie “Big.”
If that’s not your style and you’re more into the laid back Instagram-worthy spots, then Chelsea is the place for you. The High Line is a freight rail line that was transformed into a park. Throughout this 1.45 mile artsy walk, you will get to see all over Chelsea.
Soho is one of my favorite parts of New York; it is bursting with character. From the cobblestone roads to the iconic designer stores, it’s something straight out of a movie scene.
The Color Factory is an interactive and playful museum that will truly bring out the inner kid. This one-of-a-kind museum is based on your experience with color featuring treats and fun prizes. Each room is more vibrant than the last, all leading up to a giant baby blue ball pit! I mean, how could you turn that down?
Need a bite after that experience? Just a 10-minute walk from the museum into the heart of Soho is Murray’s Mac and Cheese. This unique spot is mac and cheese heaven with options to customize your bowl or order from their delicious menu.
New York City is a place unlike any other; full of unique fashion, music, art and landmarks. Make sure you stay up to date with Bloomsburg’s bus trips to hit one of my favorite spots or explore yourself.
