Mariah falls flat
Mariah Carey bombed her hit song “All I Want for Christmas Is You” Wednesday night during the Rockefeller Center tree lighting, and it did not go unnoticed. Carey showed up three hours late to the event because she was dealing with her lawyers regarding her divorce from Nick Cannon. TMZ reported that she was supposed to pre-tape the performance but NBC wouldn’t allow it. Carey was rushed to the stage and performed ice cold. She had no time to warm up, and to top it off, she’s been having vocal issues. She wrestled with these issues during the performance.
Unfortunately for Carey, an unedited, isolated vocal track of her performance is now viral on the Internet. Carey took to Twitter to apologize to her fans. “Last night’s situation was beyond my control, I apologize to all that showed up, you know that I would never want to disappoint you.”
A situation like this is something you would never expect to happen to the Grammy Award winner, but take a listen for yourself – it was truly brutal.
