Move Over Ice Bucket Challenge For The Twizzler Challenge

Ever since the ALS ice bucket took over everyone’s timelines during the summer, there have been new challenges emerging. The most recent one has the ability to break the internet: the Twizzler challenge. The challenge helps raise money for autism through donations to New York Collaborates for Autism (NYC4A).
The ALS ice bucket challenge helped raise awareness as well as $115 million since July 29 for Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease.
Now, New York Collaborates for Autism hopes to gain awareness as a non-profit organization that designs specific programs for individuals living with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Their mission is to empower people living with Autism to live their lives to the fullest.
You may be asking how this particular challenge got started. Well this movement began when Fred Katz, a writer for Bleacher Report tweeted the concept to “Today’s” Willie Geist and actress Uzo Aduba during Comedy Central’s program “Night of Too Many Stars: America Comes Together for Autism.”

Not only did the pair share a Twizzler but they shared a kiss in true Lady and Tramp style.
The movement created some attention when Geist visited the “The Meredith Vieira Show” and encouraged people to take part in the challenge or make a donation to NYC4A. Matt Lauer and Kathie Lee Gifford from the “Today” show recently took part in eat and smooch.
So start thinking about who you want to share a Twizzler and kiss for the good of Autism.
