The Costume Institute Gala, known as the Met Ball, is an annual ball celebrating the opening of the Metropolitan Museum’s fashion exhibit. In easier terms, the Met Gala is known as the “Fashion Academy Awards” or the “Oscars of the East Coast.” The event is hosted by Vogue magazine and its notorious editor-in-chief, Anna Wintour.
