Major 8.2-Magnitude Earthquake Shakes the Coast of Chile

On Tuesday, April 1, a major 8.2 earthquake rumbled the coast of Chile, at approximately 8:46 p.m. local time, creating a tsunami. According to CNN, with the tsunami and earthquake combined, five people were killed. Interior Minister Rodrigo Penailillo explained that four men and a woman died. Two suffered from heart attacks, and three were crushed. Several tsunami warnings were sent out by the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center, but were terminated by Wednesday morning.
