Kylie Jenner is most known for her family’s reality television show, Keeping Up with the Kardashians, and her highly successful business, Kylie Cosmetics. Although, recently she has been recognized for her contribution to Smile Train. The charitable organization strives to provide children with untreated cleft lips and palates in developing countries with 100% free cleft repair surgery and aftercare.
Jenner, who is an ambassador for Smile Train, created a signature lip kit, complete with a matte lipstick and lip liner, to benefit the organization. The shade “Smile,” is a soft, bubblegum pink, suitable for anyone.
The “Smile” lip kit was first released on Oct. 3, in honor of World Smile Day, and sold out in minutes with 100% of the net proceeds going directly to Smile Train. Jenner raised $159,500 for the organization, funding 638 children with cleft lip and palate surgeries.
At the start of the new year, Jenner decided to relaunch the “Smile” lip kit on Jan. 5, raising an additional $300,000 for Smile Train.
In an interview conducted by PEOPLE, Smile Train CEO, Susannah Schaefer, spoke out about Jenner’s contributions, “Kylie has a beautiful smile herself, yet we were most impressed with her selflessness, huge heart and extremely generous giving spirit.”
Jenner’s mother, Kris Jenner, took to Twitter to also express her gratitude for her daughter.
In total, Jenner’s half-million dollar donation will provide 1,800 children with surgeries for cleft lip and palate.
