Joar Dahn And Amayir Capers To Run For CGA Re-Election

BLOOMSBURG, PA- Current CGA President Joar Dahn (junior) and Vice-President Amayir Capers (sophomore) will be running for re-election for the fall 2018 semester.
Since becoming president in the Fall ’17 semester, he has created events such as Meet the President, Beyond the Fountain, and is currently in the process of creating a school supply drive for a Liberian elementary school.
“I’ve been heavily active in student government since Kindergarten,” Dahn proudly stated. In Bloomsburg alone, he’s been the African Student Association President since his sophomore year, had a seat as an on-campus senator, was the president for the class of 2019, and is now the current CGA President.
Capers is also no stranger to student government. Besides being the current CGA Vice President, he is the founder, president, and coach of the Boxing Club here on campus.
Dahn and Capers (who have dubbed themselves #TheGoodBrothers) have been a team since the resignation of previous CGA VP Jared R. Harris in October 2017. In need of a new vice president, Dahn forfeited his right as president to handpick his own replacement, and instead gave the senate a handful of options and allowed them to vote. The Senate ultimately chose Capers, thus creating The Good Brothers.
Since becoming Vice President, Capers has addressed every student concern that has come his way, and takes pride in the fact that he is helping students.
“Some people want [this position] for their resume, I want it to serve”, Capers proclaimed.
If re-elected, The Good Brothers plan to build on their slogan “Strength In Diversity” by working with the admissions office and other departments to create initiatives that will aid in enrollment and diversity at Bloomsburg University.
Voting begins online at the following link, and starts Wednesday, March 7th and continues until midnight of the following day.
