Star DE JJ Watt just announced on social media that he will take his talents to the Arizona Cardinals.
This announcement was made just a week after Watt’s career long team, the Houston Texans, released him.
The two sides agreed to a two year deal worth $31 million.
Watt spent a total of nine years with Houston and was a notorious threat coming off of the right edge. During his time in Houston, Watt tallied a whopping 371 solo tackles, 123 assisted tackles, 101 sacks, one safety, two interceptions and two TDs.
After Hurricane Harvey hit Houston in 2017, Watt opened up a donation fund with a goal of $100,000. JJ exceeded this limit exponentially, donating $37 million dollars in total. He used this money to relieve communities around the Houston area and rebuilt 1,183 homes in total.
JJ will forever live in Texans Fans hearts as the DE who would terrorize opposing QBs week after week—but most importantly as the gentle giant who gave back to his community endlessly.
