Halloween is approaching us in a few days! That means there’s only a few days to watch your favorite Halloween movies and Netflix’s new release, ‘Hubie Halloween.’ This movie was directed by Stephen Brill and written by Adam Sandler and Tim Herlihy. The cast is made up of many successful, well-known actors such as Adam Sandler, Kevin James, Julie Bowen, Ray Liotta, Steve Buscemi, Maya Rudolph and so many more.

The Netflix description states:

“Hubie’s not the most popular in Salem, Massachusetts, but when Halloween turns truly spooky, this good-hearted scaredy-cat sets out to keep his town safe.”

The movie is rated PG-13 and is 1 hour and 43 minutes long. Netflix places this movie under a few genres: Comedies, Slapstick Comedies, Mysteries. Netflix also describes it to be “quirky” and “goofy.” The movie was released on Oct. 7, 2020 as a Netflix original film.” The movie also appears in Netflix’s Top 10 in the U.S. Today at #8.

With such hype given from Netflix, others tend to think of this movie as more of a waste of time. The Rotten Tomatoes rating is not too high for an average Adam Sandler movie. Its official rating for the Tomatometer is 5.11/10 for the overall rating and a 49%. The audience score is an average rating of 3.04 and 48%.

One poor review states, “Sandler has done some brilliant dramatic work over the years, so it’s a pity he persists in churning out such garbage-level comedy. But if Netflix keeps chucking millions at you, what are you going to do?”

On the other hand, a good review says, “‘Hubie Halloween’ is a feel-good Halloween movie with heart. If you’re not a fan of Adam Sandler’s kind of comedy you may not enjoy it, but overall it has laugh out loud moments.”

The overall film is a hit-or-miss experience. You can watch the official trailer above for more information. Watch the movie and see if it’s a hit or a miss!
