Huskies Weekend Recap

Football: The Huskies defeated Slippery Rock 42-38 on Saturday, Nov. 16. With the win, the Huskies were crowned champions of the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC). Senior running back Franklyn Quiteh ran for 231- yards and three touchdowns, including the game-winner with 27 seconds left in the fourth quarter. Redshirt sophomore defensive back Gary Postell recorded a career-high 12 total tackles, and the interception that sealed the win with five seconds left. Quiteh was named the PSAC East Offensive Player of the Week, while Postell took the award for the defensive side. The Huskies’ next game will be Saturday, Nov. 30 at home against the winner of the West Chester/American International contest. Men’s Basketball: The men defeated Lincoln (Pa) 89-82 in double overtime on Saturday, Nov. 16. Redshirt senior Dontahe Jordan scored a career-high 34 points and grabbed nine rebounds. Redshirt senior Lorenzo Christmas chipped in 18 points for Bloomsburg, who are now 2-1 on the season. Jordan was also named the PSAC East Men’s Basketball Athlete of the Week. The Huskies next game will be on Wednesday, Nov. 20 at home against Millersville. Tip-off is set for 7:30 p.m.
Women’s Basketball: The women defeated Wilmington (Del.) 105-69 on Saturday, Nov. 16. Senior guard Catherine Noack led the Huskies with a career-high 25 points. Sophomore forward Erica Maciejewski posted a double-double, setting career-highs in points (13), and rebounds (10). Noack was named the PSAC East Women’s Basketball Athlete of the Week. Bloomsburg’s next game will be on Wednesday, Nov. 20 at home against Millersville. Tip-off is set for 5:30 p.m.
Wrestling: The Huskies’ wrestling team lost 22-13 in a dual meet to Lehigh University on Friday, Nov. 15. Redshirt seniors Bryce Busler, Josh Veltre, Richard Perry and Justin Grant all posted victories for Bloomsburg. Their next match will be Friday, Nov. 22, at home against Arizona State University. The contest will start at 7 p.m.
Men’s Swimming: The men defeated Dickinson University 132-67 on Saturday, Nov. 16. Thirteen PSAC cut times were posted by the Huskies, including junior Brandon Sherbo’s time in the 1650-free. Sherbo swam the race in 16:10.48, which is good for the fourth fastest time in the PSAC this year. Bloomsburg’s next contest will be Friday, Dec. 6, at the Akron Invitational. The event will take place from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Women’s Swimming: The women defeated Dickinson University 121-79 on Saturday, Nov. 16. The Huskies posted four PSAC cut times on the day. Freshman Brooke Gilson swam the 1650-free in 17:51.74, which is the third fastest time in Division II this season. Bloomsburg’s next contest will be Friday, Dec. 6 at the Akron Invitational. The event will take place from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
